Pensive monkey
I dreamed about lots of brilliant monkeys last night but was too slow to photograph them in the dream. I feel a bit sad about this today

'deceived by his monkeys'
I was rather entranced by a quote on Radio 4's In Our Time this morning (or, 'The-Melvyn-Bragg-Clever-Programme' as I like to refer to it, because it always makes me feel at least 33% cleverer by proxy after listening!) referring to Galen*, the Roman physician and medical theorist as being 'deceived by his monkeys'
*nope, no Roddy McDowell references you ignoramus!

Monkey triangle ensemble
Monkey triangle ensemble - every seaside town should have one!
I have a photo of myself as a sulky 2 year old posing with my dad & a rather wretched monkey in a cardigan from the early '70s - just saying, I don't really condone animals in clothes (unless it's REALLY funny!)

Monkey Theremin (niche publications we have loved)
I love a specialist publication me! (apparently if you give an infinite amount of monkeys theremins eventually they'll compose all of Beethoven's...oh wait, that's typewriters & Shakespeare isn't it?)

World Book Day
Micheal Lawrence who writes the popular Jiggy McCue series of books which I've had the pleasure of illustrating the covers has written a special Jiggy book especially for World Book Day called 'Evilution the Troof' which I drew a monkey on the cover
(Thanks to Thy Bui at Orchard Books for her lovely cover designs)
You can see more of the Jiggy covers here
