Brian Blessed with wings, playing the drums!

I drew this while frothing at the mouth in response to ANOTHER depressing news article about residential property developers attempting to close down venues / clubs etc. which have operated for years due to noise, this time affecting the Curzon cinema in Mayfair.

My radical plan is next time property developers build flats next to long established clubs / cinemas & complain about noise, I propose crowdfunding & installing a continuous hologram of Brian Blessed with wings playing a f*** off drum kit!
In the words of Withnail - "Liven you stiffs up a bit!"

Singing your heart out!

Wonderful to hear an old lady on the Victoria line this morning sporting HUGE headphones & singing her heart extremely LOUDLY out completely oblivious to all the other passengers - cue outbreak of smiles amidst the usual 'tube embarassment' - priceless!

Epidemic of tuts

There's been a lot of talk about air pollution but this morning on my walk into the studio there appeared to be an epidemic of tutting in the  London air (or maybe I'm just being super-annoying today & don't realise it?)
We really should make tutting an Olympic sport. The GB team would clean up!

Cyber Street Wise posters

I was recently commissioned by M&C Saatchi to design 6 posters & direct 6 short animated spots for the government's Cyber Street Wise campaign through Picasso Pictures. The posters seem to have taken over the London Underground (& a fair bit of overground too!) Here's a few examples that have been photographed by several of my spies around London to be going on with - more soon...watch this space...

Square Trilby

Interesting square trilby-esque* hat spotted on Wardour Street - had to rub my eyes to check I wasn't in Shoreditch by accident!

(*yes pedants, I'm sure it can't be an actual trilby - ence the 'esque' ; )

Breaking all the health & safety rules known to man for TFL's in-house (station?) magazine (now will you PLEASE stop those annoying Boris announcements on the buses?!?)

Inexorable Slow Death of a Takeaway

Every time I pass this particular place on Berwick Street I feel like I'm watching the rather tragic inexorable slow death of a takeaway, in the knowledge that the previous occupants of the premises (hotdogs, sushi, mexican etc.) have all lasted around 6 months.
First of all they had installed a man on the door offering 'free meat' to passers by & recently a rather forlorn handwritten sign appeared, trumpeting the fact that they use 'a frying pan & NOT a microwave' to make breakfast but it still seems to remain empty.
I'm in the firm belief that certain buildings & retail premises are cursed, with the various occupants doomed to failure. Am wishing them well...
