'Gaza Is SO Bracing!'

 

My Trump-based take on the classic John Hassall ‘Skegness is So Bracing’ poster.
I was actually just paid because this was NOT published by Private Eye (they intended to but eventually didn’t have space) which is slightly bitter sweet but I’d be churlish to complain.

My main work tends to be childrens’ book illustration but I find the political work comes out mainly through rage & frustration, it’s very rare that I actually get paid for it, it’s more like a pressure valve.

It’s maybe an odd balance but I’ve never been adept at compartmentalising my work - which is unfortunately probably detrimental career-wise - I’ve never been good at good decisions! Unfortunately impulse tends to dominate over curation every time!
